About Woolcool
Woolcool packaging is 100% felted sheep’s wool, sealed within recyclable, industry-grade, micro-perforated polyethylene wrap.
High-performing Woolcool is sourced from a fully traceable UK-based supply chain. The pure, best-quality wool used in the insulated bag outperforms man-made insulation materials, like traditional polystyrene. Independent tests consistently prove that Woolcool outperforms conventional insulated packaging on every level.
How does it work?
The 100% felted sheep’s wool used in Woolcool is washed in a natural process and scoured before sealing. Woolcool box liners eliminate more of the air-spaces around the product, keeping it chilled for longer, and the breathable film allows the ‘smart’ wool fibres to absorb any humidity and condensation.

At The Finest Cake Company we believe the best cakes and bakes should not come at a cost to the environment, both here at our base in the heart of the Garden of England, or anywhere else.
Biodegradable, compostable and reusable, Woolcool is a genuinely sustainable packaging solution that provides significant environmental benefits over traditional packaging solutions, without sacrificing performance. Composting Woolcool releases valuable nutrients into the soil, eliminating the use of harmful packaging, such as polystyrene, from the landfill and the environment.
If you decide to recycle your Woolcool locally, simply separate the perforated plastic wrap from the wool liner and put the wool into your general waste, where it will fully biodegrade. The perforated plastic wrap is recyclable via your kerbside collection.
Give it back
We’re in the process of setting up a returns system for Woolcool so that you can return your packaging to us, free of charge. We’ll grade it to ensure it’s fit for reuse, checking the quality of the wool, whether the plastic is torn or whether the wool is wet. Any Woolcool that cannot be reused will be recycled. We’ll let you know via our newsletter when this service is fully up and running.
